Curfew

Parents:

Randa and I really do need your help in ensuring your player(s) are adhering to team curfews. Just a reminder of what those times are as indicated in the Volleyball Handbook:

  • The night before a game or tourney is 10:00 pm.
  • Weeknights when there is not a game the next day is 11:00 pm.
  • Weekends when there is not a tourney or game the next day is 12:30 pm.

I apologize in advance if we get any of you out of bed when making curfew calls. It is my hope that we will not need to make calls very often, however, anytime we have any reason to believe girls are not meeting curfew, calls will be made to all girls in order to be fair as we do not want to make any girl feel as if they are being singled out or targeted.

Thanks for your assistance in holding your player(s) accountable for the choices they make that can affect their entire team.

Good Morning!

I apologize for taking so long to get this back up and running! But this is a line of communication that I really want to try to get back to using so I thought I'd just send out a quick note with a few bits of information.

First, I want to thank you for your patience with the reporting of statistics. Melissa has been helping to get them submitted to the papers and such, but with the new stats program and new stats keepers, we've been needing to submit the stats typically a day after each game as I want to make sure they are accurate. After our last game, the stats we were keeping on paper were matching up with our stats program quite closely so I think we are getting very close to being able to submit accurate stats the night of each game. YEAH!!!

Second, I would like to thank you all for coming and supporting our girls. This group of young ladies have been really great to work with. From what I can tell, and from what many girls have told me, it seems we have a team this year that is much more team oriented and focused on helping to build each other up. I do hope that if anything does happen that I am unaware of that one of them will bring it to my attention. As a parent, please encourage them to do so if there is something you are hearing at home as I am not always able to catch what is happening off (or even sometimes on) the court.

Randa and I have been doing our best to identify our areas of needed improvement during each game we have played and have been working in practice to try to improve those things. Even though the Strasburg scores did not reflect it, these girls implemented everything we worked on in practice the night before. They let very few kills hit the floor untouched and they were passing the ball much closer to their target. This makes both Randa and I very optimistic about the season. I am hoping that very soon, we will be able to secure our first win!

Again, thank you for your support and your patience as we have gotten this season underway!
